Wherein I Become Even More of a Loser
I’ve been intending to write a new post for this blog, and I’ve been horribly slacking. And that’s not to say that I’ve been posting to anywhere else, which might have been implied by the ‘this blog’ part of my first sentence.
I started playing World of Warcraft (shut up, I know, hold your loser labels until after the main presentation) with my brother, and I’m actually having a ton of fun. I played a little bit of Everquest with one of my first roommates at RIT, and I had fun then, but I’d avoided playing anything like it since. However, now that I have steady employment I feel like I can afford to pay the subscription fee without destroying my budget. I’m currently on the Blade’s Edge server, if anyone actually would want to try and be a huge nerd with me.
As for any of my other projects, I’m afraid they’ve fallen by the wayside. I finished modding my Xbox, and set it up with XBMC, which is pretty awesome. I think it’s going to replace the PC that I currently have hooked up to my TV. Now I’ll need to figure out something new and creative to do with that computer. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this here yet (if I have feel free to send angry emails) but I built a new PC to use as my gaming rig. It’s nothing extraordinary, just a few middle-of-the-road parts that I put together. I had a few issues with the power supply not being powerful enough to support my new PCI-E video card, but after I replaced that it works like a champ. Now I’m going to pick a weekend and try and convert my old desktop into a Windows 2003 box. Good thing I got all those OS licenses when I was in college. (At least I got something from college.)
I got in touch with an old friend from the last job I had. She’s apparently engaged, and getting married sometime this year. Apparently getting married is what all the cool kids are doing these days. I know, I know, I’ve been behaving and cutting back on the emo lately – I’m just feeling old with my birthday coming up on Friday.
