Writing Short Stories
I had decided to try and start a project in order to get some actual writing done. I wanted to take a page out of Jonathan Coulton’s book and write a short story every month. (His was actually a song a week – I just don’t think I can manage to finish a story in a week’s time.) My biggest problem is actually completing a story – most of my writing just trails off without finishing. I decided to use one of my notebooks and an actual pencil to try and do my writing. Now I think that may have been a mistake. I really can’t drive myself to get anything written down, even though I had a strong idea for the story. Now I think I’m going to stick to using my laptop – that’s definitely been a strong change for my blogging habits. Plus it’s a lot easier on my finger. Ever since I broke my middle finger on my right hand a couple of years ago it cramps up every time I write with a pen or pencil for any length of time.
