How Many Straws Can the Camel Stand?
I want to preface this post by saying that I like the apartment where I live. I’ve lived there for five years, it’s got a fair rent, and the people I rent from are good people.
However, this winter is stressing my ability to put up with poor situations. The furnace keeps breaking down, and this weekend it went out on Friday night and my water pipes are either frozen or just broken. I would think frozen because it was 34 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday when I woke up – at noon. As of the time of this post, the water is still not working and the furnace is completely broken. I, of course, am not there, because 45 degrees inside my house is not conducive to me being comfortable.
My question becomes whether to look for a different apartment. I’m not sure what would be available, especially at the deal that I’m getting rent-wise. I almost feel like there isn’t much use in looking around for another place, as it will cost more to rent. And if the furnace is replaced soon, I don’t think it will be a problem anymore.
Yes, this is a post about staying in a holding pattern in regard to my housing situation. It’s a little bit shorter than I intended, since I’ve been frozen and without water this weekend. Such is life.
