Sum Up (Again)

I need to start writing more, just so I can avoid writing these clichéd ‘honest I really mean to write but real life and I’m a slacker blah blah blah’ posts.  I think one of the biggest reasons I haven’t been posting anything for the last few weeks is that I’m really working too hard at my day job and when I come home I just blow off steam.  Writing needs to become part of my relaxation in order for it to get worked in to my rotation better.

In other news, last night I went and witnessed a dying phenomenon.  What I mean by that is that I went to a double feature at a drive in theater.  The first half of the double feature was Monsters vs. Aliens, which I hadn’t seen yet.  (I usually just wait for movies to come out on DVD and watch them at home.)  MvA was excellent, and well worth watching – especially for a voice actor aficionado like myself.  It was fun as hell trying to pick out each actor as a new character popped on screen.  The story itself held my interest and was definitely worth the time.  The second movie was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.  I know I’ve been hearing a lot of negative stuff about this movie around the internet lately, and I went in with low expectations.  However, though the movie wasn’t deep or well filmed or anything – and I quickly got tired of the movie shoving the fact that Megan Fox is attractive down my throat – I have to admit that I had fun.  Seeing the bots and hearing the names of the characters still gave me a bit of the ‘oh that’s awesome I remember that’ vibe from the first movie and the action (on the giant screen at least) was at least fun.  All in all, though it wasn’t a candidate for a favorite film or anything, the movie was worth watching, and it was definitely worth half of the six dollars that I paid for both movies.

Oh, and as an aside?  I’d love to do voice work at some point in the future – I was always interested in radio and animation.
